Seasonal Assistance for Families
Posted on 11/11/2020
With the seasonal onset of colder weather, many families find themselves with difficulties meeting a variety of additional needs, such as obtaining children’s winter gear or heating assistance. If you would like assistance connecting with resources available in the community, please contact the Bucksport Middle School Guidance Office at 469-6647, or you may prefer to seek resources on your own using the 211 Maine service by calling 211 or going to www.211maine.org to find out more about what help is available in our area.

Food Assistance at Bucksport Middle School
BMS distributes non-perishable food to take home over vacations and weekends during the school year, to assist students and families experiencing food insecurity. If you would like your student/family to be considered for receiving supplemental food aid, please contact Principal Todd West or School Counselor Stan Pelletier.

Heating Assistance
The Maine State Housing Authority offers assistance to families for home heating assistance.  For more information, please visit the HEAP website.
